Edwina Bartholomew Biography
Edwina Bartholomew is an Australian journalist, television presenter, and news reporter best known for her work on Sunrise and Dancing with the Stars.
Education and early journalism career
Edwina Bartholomew completed a journalism degree at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst and later earned a Master of International Studies from the University of Sydney in 2006.
Early in her career, she won the Sunrise intern competition, progressing from production assistant duties to working behind the scenes as a producer on the program.
Early reporting work and Olympics coverage
Bartholomew worked as a reporter for 2GB radio before joining the Seven Network. She also contributed to coverage of the Beijing Olympics, gaining early experience in major international broadcasting events.
She later returned to Australia and worked as a reporter for Seven News, further strengthening her reputation as a field journalist.
Sunrise correspondent and major reporting assignments
In 2011, Edwina Bartholomew became the Sydney correspondent for Sunrise, replacing Simon Reeve. She also contributed stories to Sunday Night and The Morning Show.
Her reporting has taken her across Australia and internationally, covering major events such as the Queensland floods, the Christchurch earthquake, the Camel Cup in Alice Springs, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Sunrise weather presenter and TV hosting roles
In July 2013, Bartholomew was appointed weather presenter on Sunrise, replacing Grant Denyer. In this role, she reported from locations across Australia and overseas, delivering live weather updates and feature segments.
In September 2013, she also became co-host of Dancing with the Stars, expanding her presence in Australian entertainment television.
Entertainment presenting and recent work
In 2016, Bartholomew transitioned from weather presenting to become the entertainment presenter on Sunrise, a role that involved interviewing celebrities and covering entertainment news. She was replaced in the weather role by Sam Mac.
She has also filled in as host on Weekend Sunrise, covering for Monique Wright during maternity leave.
