Professional Football Career
Craig Foster began his senior football career with Sydney Croatia in 1988, where he played in a grand final during his debut season. He later moved to Victorian club Sunshine George Cross before returning to Sydney to play for Avala in the NSW Super League.
In 1992, Craig Foster continued his international football journey by joining Ernest Borel in Hong Kong before returning to Australia to play for Adelaide City and Marconi in the National Soccer League (NSL).
At the age of 28, Foster moved to England to continue his professional football career. He first joined Portsmouth under renowned manager Terry Venables before later signing with Crystal Palace as a free agent. Craig Foster remained with Crystal Palace until the conclusion of the 1999–2000 season.
Following his time in England, Craig Foster returned to Australia to play for Northern Spirit before officially retiring from professional football in 2003.
International Football Career
Craig Foster proudly represented the Australian national football team, earning 29 international caps and scoring nine goals for the Socceroos.
Earlier in his career, Foster also represented Australia at under-16 level, helping the national side reach the quarter-finals of the 1985 FIFA U-16 World Championship in China.
His achievements at both junior and senior international levels helped establish Craig Foster as one of Australia’s respected football representatives during his playing career.
