Early Career in Television
Georgie Gardner is one of Australia’s most respected television presenters and journalists, best known for her work with the Nine Network and major national news programs.
Georgie Gardner joined the Nine Network in July 2002, initially presenting the weather on National Nine News in Sydney while also delivering afternoon news updates. In 2004, she became the original presenter of National Nine News Afternoon Edition, a semi-national afternoon news bulletin introduced by the network.
Before joining the Nine Network, Georgie Gardner worked with Network Ten as a reporter and presenter for Ten News. She also gained national recognition with the Seven Network as co-host of Seven News Sunrise alongside Mark Beretta. During her time with Seven, she became a familiar face to Australian television audiences before transitioning into fill-in presenting roles for Seven News and Sky News Australia.
Career Across Australian Television Networks
Georgie Gardner has achieved a unique place in Australian television history as the only Australian news presenter to have presented late-night news bulletins on all three commercial television networks.
Throughout her career, she has filled in on Ten Late News, served as the full-time presenter of Seven Late News and later appeared as a substitute presenter on Nightline, the late-night edition of Nine News.

Today Show and Nine News Success
In 2006, Georgie Gardner replaced Leila McKinnon as presenter of National Nine News Morning Edition. Later that same year, she succeeded Sharyn Ghidella as the news presenter on the Today show after Ghidella moved to the Seven Network.
Gardner became a popular member of the Today team and returned to the program in August 2007 following maternity leave, during which Allison Langdon temporarily filled the role.
In July 2009, Georgie Gardner was appointed weekend presenter for Nine News Sydney, replacing Mark Ferguson after his departure to the Seven Network.

Her final appearance on Today aired on 6 June 2014 and attracted strong television ratings, with many viewers praising her elegance, professionalism and contribution to the program. She was later replaced by Nine News reporter Sylvia Jeffreys.
