Personal Connection to Queensland

Josh Holt has strong personal ties to Queensland. His parents are Brisbane-born, and he has family connections in both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. He has spoken about his family history in the state, including his parents’ wedding in Brisbane in 1974 and his mother’s background as a former Miss Queensland in 1970.

Experience Covering Major Weather Events

Before joining Network 10, Holt spent five years at The Weather Channel, where he covered significant weather events across Queensland. His experience includes reporting on major floods in Brisbane and Queensland as well as Tropical Cyclone Yasi.

He has described first-hand experiences reporting during extreme weather conditions, including being in Townsville during Cyclone Yasi.

Holt is known for his natural, unscripted presentation style, often delivering weather reports without using an autocue. He aims to provide clear and accessible weather information for viewers.
