CAITLYN SHADBOLT BIO – X Factor 2014

Caitlyn Shadbolt is a 18 year-old contestant from Gympie, Queensland. She once studied at the Country Music Association in Tamworth.

Caitlyn Shadbolt cites Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood as her musical influences. She auditioned for The X Factor singing “Life Is a Highway” by Tom Cochrane and progressed to the super bootcamp round of the competition.

For the first challenge of bootcamp, Shadbolt was placed into a group with three other contestants from her category to perform a song together for the judges. Shadbolt made it to the second bootcamp challenge, where she performed a country rendition of “Brave” by Sara Bareilles to the judges and a live audience of one thousand.

She then progressed to the home visits round in New York City and performed “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato in front of her mentor Ronan Keating and guest mentor John Legend.[20] Keating later selected Shadbolt for the live shows.
